Umm Abdurrahman was born Astria Indra Dewi in July 1986. Coming from an Eastern Javanese family background, she has lived most of her life on Sumatera Island in Riau Province.

Before making her Hijrah, Umm Abdurrahman used her training in business administration by working for various multinational corporations in Batam, as well as Jakarta.

In 2011, she was blessed to meet the love of her life over the Internet – an American revert to Islam.

In 2012, her future husband moved to Indonesia and they were married approximately a month later in Pekanbaru, a city located in Riau Province. Now they are the proud parents of three wonderful children.

Both Umm Abdurrahman and her husband began studying Islam as was taught by the Salaf in 2013. Ever since then, the two have continued to study Islam and monitor closely world events that affect our Ummah.

Umm Abdurrahman is looked up to by many who know her as being very knowledgeable and astute when it concerns not only Islamic matters but topics about politics, Indonesian history, Islamic history, child rearing, among other things.

The Purpose of This Site

It’s high time for Indonesian Muslims (women in particular) to wisen up and learn the truth behind many of the misconceptions surrounding Islam and what it means to be a true Muslim.

Though this site has what it takes to help any Muslim, it’s mostly geared towards Muslim women of all ages. However, Umm Abdurrahman especially hopes to reach the maturing Millennial Muslim generation – one of the largest in the history of our Ummah.

We have the power to take back what is rightfully ours but we need to be educated in the truth and willing to accept reality. Since Indonesian legislation barely protects freedom of speech, some matters will be watered down some.

Nevertheless, for those savvy Muslimah who are capable of reading between the lines, you will get the overall message Umm Abdurrahman wishes to convey through this site.
